Our history
Knoco’s roots go back to the early development of Knowledge Management as a practical business discipline. Founded in 1999 by Nick Milton and Tom Young, Knoco built on experience from BP’s pioneering Knowledge Management work and helped shape how organizations assess, design, implement, and sustain KM capability.
Over more than two decades, the Knoco name developed a global reputation for practical consulting, training, methodologies, publications, assessments, lessons learned systems, Communities of Practice, knowledge retention, implementation support, and other KM services across knowledge-intensive industries.
In 2026, the Knoco legacy, brand, and core intellectual property transitioned from Knoco Ltd in the United Kingdom to Knoco International in the United States, preserving the historic contribution of Knoco while positioning the organization for continued global growth, modern professional education, and stronger integration of Knowledge Management with AI readiness and Organizational Intelligence.
