Cory Cannon

President & CEO | Knoco International & KnocoUSA

As President and CEO of Knoco International, KnocoUSA, and Cannon-Lear Enterprises LLC, I lead global efforts to transform how organizations operationalize knowledge as a strategic asset. Across government, industry, and academia, I help organizations move beyond fragmented data toward integrated knowledge ecosystems that enable decision advantage, innovation, and mission success. My work sits at the intersection of Knowledge Management, Data Governance, and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on building the foundations required for trusted AI, scalable learning, and high-velocity decision-making across complex, multi-echelon environments. Previously, I served as Director of Data Governance and Dissemination Services at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, leading enterprise initiatives including Open Data, the Paperwork Reduction Act, DoD–VA Joint Data programs, Zero Trust, and the VA Data Stewardship Program. These efforts supported one of the largest healthcare and benefits systems in the world, ensuring data was governed, trusted, and actionable. My foundation includes more than two decades in the Department of Defense as an enlisted Marine, U.S. Army officer, and senior civilian leader. During this time, I contributed to shaping how Knowledge Management is defined and operationalized within the DoD, enabling decision-making in complex and high-risk environments. Today, my work extends globally through Knoco International and its affiliate network, supporting organizations in implementing Knowledge Management systems aligned with ISO 30401 and preparing for AI-driven operations. I am the creator of the Organizational Knowledge Loop (OKL), a model that transforms data into intelligence, insight, and action across all levels of decision-making. Knowledge is not static. It is a dynamic capability that must be designed, governed, and sustained. As a doctoral researcher and university professor, I focus on advancing both theory and practice, bridging academic models with real-world execution. My core belief is simple: Knowledge is not a byproduct of the organization. It is the system that enables it to learn, adapt, and act with precision. In the age of Artificial Intelligence: No knowledge. No intelligence.
